Land/Region:

Germany

Period:

2005

Project Description:

Within the framework of the Study „Thermal brine reservoirs in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania“, the extension and composition of the thermal brine reservoirs have been described and presented. In addition, the technical, legal and financial requirements on the development of the development of thermal brines have been given. The Study is available on the internet:

http://www.lung.mv-regierung.de

It was the aim of the Study to address investors in facilities where  thermal brines are used, such as spas and pools. This may lead to an enhancement of the value of sites and the improvement of the economic situation of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania as a popular tourist destination.

GTN Services:

  • Identification and presentation of thermal brine-bearing aquifers (>20 °C, >14 g/l NaCl content)
  • Display of those thermasl brine reservoirs which can be develo0ped at the least cost (as “shallow” as possible)
  • Identification of the different characteristics which determine their value and the distribution of their concentrations
  • Cartographic display
  • Evaluation of given sites

Facts and Figures:

  • Federal State of Mecklenburg-West Pomerania
  • Deep aquifers: >0.6 km
  • Thermal water temperature: production well  >20 °C

Thermalwasserbohrung Gt Templin 1/95Exploration and development of thermal water for geothermal energy recovery and balneological applications within the framework of the concept for the development of the „Templin Resort and Spa“

Thermal Water Well Gt Belzig 1/96

GT Belzig 1_96 Exploration and development of thermal water to supply the SteinTherme Belzig. The well proved the existence of a geothermally effective horizon in the Contorta sandstone. It was completed with a cemented 9 5/8“ x 7“ glass-fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) casing.

Thermal Water Well Gt Bad Wörishofen 1/99

Gt bad Wörishofen 1-99 Exploration and development of thermal water to supply the THERME Bad Wörishofen. A thermal water reservoir was developed by the well in the basal sandstone of the Upper Marine Molasse.
