Project Description:

Exploration and development of thermal water for geothermal energy recovery and balneological applications within the framework of the concept for the development of the „Templin Resort and Spa“

The well proved the existence of a geothermally effective horizon in the Hettangian sandstone. It was completed with a cemented 7“ GRP casing. The tested productivity amounts to 50 m³/h.

Since 2000, the thermal water well has been supplying iodine-bearing thermal brine to the NaturTherme Templin. A certificate by the Laborunion Prof. Höll & Co. GmbH Bad Elster recognizing it as “Natural medicinal water” has been awarded.

GTN has been responsible for the legal (Mining Code) servicing of thermal water well since the commissioning of the brine production system.

GTN Services:

  • Feasibility Study
  • Drilling engineering design and supervision of the drilling and completion of the well
  • Geological and geo-scientific processing
  • Licensing procedure under the Mining Code
  • Exercising the legal (Mining Code) responsibility for the operation of the thermal water well
